This 24x30 was inspired by an aerial image of the pipeline surf -- a surf reef break off O'ahu's north shore, well known for its huge barrel waves. Made with a combination of 6 individual resin pours to create a massive whitewash depth effect.
Pipeline pieces are so fun to watch come alive over the days of working on them as each layer builds on the next. When the light shines on the surface the colors of the water come to life in an absolutely mesmerizing way.

My name is Danielle Hart, mostly known as a Wisconsin Volleyball player. While I currently live in the midwest, the ocean is always with me.
Inspiration is easy having grown up minutes from the Virginia Beach oceanfront, but my favorite go-to? Aerial ocean photography.
Each piece is crafted using a mix of epoxy resin, acrylics, and a quick blast of high heat reaching temps as high as a 1000 degrees.
Epoxy resin is a unique medium that I’ve fallen for as it carries many characteristics of the ocean — it is somewhat predictable but rather uncontrollable. Epoxy resin is a thermosetting polymer, also commonly used in the making of surfboards and boats. It can have a mind of its own, resembling the water's movements oh-so-well while leaving a stunning glossy shine after the final torch. It is important to me that no piece feels rushed-- that the time is allowed to let my creative juices flow & get lost in my work. I know that's when I have the most fun & have my best sessions. Each is made with a whole lotta love and attention.
It never gets old watching each piece come to life in its own unique way. Learn how to care for resin artwork here.
