Pipeline Dreams

This 16x20 was inspired by an aerial image of the pipeline surf -- a surf reef break off O'ahu's north shore, well known for its huge barrel waves. Made with a combination of 5 individual resin pours to create a massive whitewash depth effect. Each surfer was handpainted, their locations & spray of the surfer dropping in on the wave match the aerial image. 
 
This piece was so fun to watch come alive over the days of working on it & in turn it has become one of my absolute favorite works so far. When the light shines on it the colors of the water come to life in a mesmerizing way.
